Angela Harpham

As a mixed media artist and photographer I practice limited edition printmaking, sometimes stand-alone but often incorporated into other works. I also make unlimited digitally created prints.

I use a variety of printmaking techniques that do.not require a press.including lino and woodcut collograph and silkscreen. I print onto various paper surfaces: handmade, Japanese and traditional. I sometimes print onto or collage my own hand made paper and also include organic material or my own photographs.

Inspiration?   The written word has been my inspiration since childhood; visual art came in middle life including an Access course in Art and Design at Chesterfield College of Art.

Real places visited and often photographed evoke certain memories thoughts and feelings.  I express these and the essential elements of a place or time in my work. Lyrics and poetry inspire and are sometimes included in my art.

Recurring motifs: circles moons suns trees waves plants and landscape.
Arup are a global independent firm of technical specialists, consulting engineers and designers. The first office outside of London was opened in Sheffield 1957 as they embarked on the Park Hill flats. 60 years on they are having a party for clients and civic representatives to celebrate the many projects they have been involved with in Sheffield. As a native of the city I am excited to have been invited to exhibit a selection of my architectural photographs of their Sheffield buildings at this event.
