My work is mainly digital print.
I became interested in the idea of bringing some of my prints into relief by cutting and layering. This allows me to hide or reveal different parts of the image and for it to change when viewed from different angles.
Most of this work has been developed from lyrics and music from the 1930’s and 40’s. Working digitally gives me great scope for manipulating text to produce rhythmical shapes and patterns.
Although much of my work is abstract I have recently started to work with landscape images, collaging various elements of these digitally to produce imaginary landscapes. Taking photographs in some of my favorite
locations gives me a range of images, textures, colours and marks to explore and work with.
