Cath Hartnett

I am a latecomer to art, having trained and worked in science and technology all my life.  I was always interested in art though, and enjoyed attending various evening and weekend classes.  However I had no formal training until 2007 when I started at Leeds College of Art and Design on a two-year part time course: Access to Further & Higher Education in Art and Design.  I am now (2015) in the final year of a part-time BA in Fine Art at Bradford School of Arts and Media.

I work primarily with printmaking and drawing. As both an artist and a walker (I live near the edge of the Peak District), I am particularly drawn to the effects of landscape on the mind and my main interests over the last few years have been in the nature of memory and the passage of time in relation to landscape. I have tried to explore the intersections between landscape, imagination, memory, mortality and the passage of time.
